New Chinese regulation on imported product (promulgated 12 April 2021 to operate from 1 Jan 2022)

The new Chinese regulation covering the responsibilities of importers, registration, and the competent authorities in exporting countries is now available.

It is a translation of the Chinese original, dated 12 April 2021 but it is applicable from 1 Jan 2022.

The document has some key areas highlighted by the Seafood Export Consultative Committee (SECC). The broad framework appears similar to the current situation but may put more responsibility on the exporting countries’ authorities to fix breaches.
